NBCUniversal & Rémy Martin
A Taste of Excellence
Our challenge
In 1724, Rémy Martin - then a young winegrower - started distilling and selling cognac under his own name. Three centuries later, the company blends tradition with innovation as it continually strives to perfect its cognac. For this Rémy Martin commercial for CNBC, we distilled 300 years of history into a sleek and cinematic tour of the storied cognac maker’s cellars in France. Featuring the brand’s Cellar Master, International Ambassador, and Winegrower, the spot focuses on how the team at Rémy Martin comes together to create unmatched flavor and quality.

Our approach
This production required us to shoot in one week’s time, with two weeks in post, all during the holiday season. What’s more, shooting in the cellars provided unique production challenges. The high alcohol content in the air raised the risk of fire, leading us to use minimal equipment, especially when it came to wireless gear. We kept a certain distance from the casks and had to move fairly quickly. On the plus side, the aroma was great!
